Customers purchase vouchers to support their favourite local business to reduce plastic. The shop then uses that money to adopt plastic free products and practices. When we’re done, customers can exchange their vouchers for new, greener versions of the products they used to buy!

At OurPledge we describe ourselves as a pledge-to-buy platform but what does this actually mean? and why do we think that we can help to prevent plastic pollution, by partnering with one independent business at a time.
We know from our research that both businesses and customers are really worried about sustainability but small businesses are often worried about making big changes to their business model whilst customers often try to be more green but often struggle to easily access green products.
To solve this issue, we run fundraising campaigns for budding green businesses with a difference. Instead of just asking for donations, customers can select green products that they would like to prepay for in advance in order to prove the demand for businesses. Once the campaign reaches its target, customers then get vouchers that they can use in store to pay for the new products. Think of it like a supermarket shop for items that don’t yet exist – and without all the plastic!
OurPledge is not just another Crowdfunder site, instead OurPledge acts as a communication platform between businesses and customers to de-risk a businesses transition to a more green sustainable future!
